Fibromialgia. Cómo pensarla, abordarla y tratarla

Ellas son; • Disfunción cognitiva • Rigidez musculoesquelética • Sensibilidad ambiental o hipervigilancia, que es un síntoma que cada vez presenta más investigaciones y se lo encuentra como más importante. Consiste en intolerancia a las luces brillantes, ruidos fuertes, perfumes y frío. Estos síntomas son una queja común de los pacientes con fibromialgia y se entienden como parte del proceso de la sensibilización central (26). Un estudio reciente ha proporcionado pistas sobre cómo la sensibilidad a las luces brillantes modula la conectividad cerebral, de modo que las entradas previamente inocuas se experimentan como dolorosas (27). Conclusiones Es importante desde el punto de vista teórico que se siga investigando y creando nuevas clasificaciones posibles con el objetivo de evitar, tanto el subdiagnóstico, que era lo que sucedía hasta hace algunos años, como el sobrediagnóstico, que representa una tendencia más actual. Ambas generan diferentes problemáticas en los pacientes y en los sistemas de salud, por eso la necesidad de ser cada vez más precisos con el diagnóstico utilizando todas las herramientas que presenten evidencia científica. En la práctica clínica considero que es importante utilizar alguna de las clasificaciones desde el 2010 en adelante.
